Material Development
Applied material development is changing the face of manufacturing. As materials are being developed that are lighter, stronger and purpose made for specific applications, the ability use these new materials is critical. OMIC R&D is able to combine experts in material development and manufacturing to explore the use of new alloys, and to demonstrate how such alloys can be machined. Few manufacturers have the luxury of stopping production to try out a new material. At OMIC R&D, we demonstrate how such materials can be used and then pass that along to manufacturers once that knowledge has been acquired. As additive manufacturing becomes more dominant, applying alloys to additive methods will be just as important as it is for subtractive manufacturing today.
