Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Department of Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering and Technology (MMET) at Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) is seeking applications for Postdoctoral Research Associate position. This is a 12-month staff position at Oregon Tech’s Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center Research & Development (OMIC R&D) with a possibility of extension to multiple years subject to performance satisfactory and funding availability. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research related to additive manufacturing process development and mechanical characteristics studies. They will also be expected to develop an independent research agenda related to this topic. Duties include gathering, managing, analyzing, and reporting data in accordance with project goals, contributing to the dissemination of research findings, submitting funding proposals, and participating in long-term research planning. Associate Manufacturing Solutions Researcher

This posting is for two new full-time entry level associate research positions at the OMIC R&D campus in Scappoose, Oregon. Recent college graduates, or those available to start by April 1, 2026 are encouraged to apply. The Associate Manufacturing Solutions Researcher “Associate MSR” supports applied research under the Director of Research Operations at the OMIC R&D campus in Scappoose, Oregon. The successful candidate works closely with industry members, university staff, faculty and students, and is a self-motivated individual capable of prioritizing work tasks to support the needs of the team. The Associate MSR utilizes advanced skills in computer-aided manufacturing and machine operation combined with a firm knowledge of research practices, technical presentation, documentation and report writing. The Associate MSR will also deliver basic to advanced knowledge in a training and educational setting as an ambassador for OMIC R&D and manufacturing in general. The Associate MSR is adaptable to a constantly evolving work environment, works very well with others, and is willing to take measures to learn and expand their working knowledge through both sharing and receiving information in a positive and collaborative setting.
