Scappoose, Oregon – The Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center Research and Development’s (OMIC R&D) is honored to announce that they have been designated a Center of Innovation Excellence (CIE) by Business Oregon. The designation comes with a substantial grant award of $1 million, marking its commitment to advance additive manufacturing and showcase its innovative endeavors on a state and national platform.
The CIE program, spearheaded by the Oregon Innovation Council (Oregon InC) and Business Oregon, reflects the State’s vision through its 10-Year Innovation Plan. Out of nineteen dynamic applications that Business Oregon received, OMIC R&D was one of the select five organizations chosen for this honor. The distinction speaks to the Center’s dedication to fostering innovation, expanding our state’s technological frontiers, and strengthening public-private partnerships.

The additive centers recognition emphasizes OMIC R&Ds role in driving forward Oregon’s manufacturing industry and reiterates its commitment to diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices. As a CIE, OMIC R&D can continue to expand its services, further reducing any barriers of entry and making them available statewide for any manufacturing leaders. The designation also encourages collaboration with other innovation hubs and partners across all of Oregon, expanding the horizons of research and development.
